In order to realize the automatic start-up of power generation when the unit is unattended, the relevant automatic technicians add a self-starting device to the unit. If the user does not pay attention to the maintenance inspection and maintenance during use, the starter of the self-starting device may fail to operate.
According to the start step of the diesel engine, the earthing switch is closed, the electric start key is turned on, and the start button is pressed. The fault that the starter does not rotate usually has two kinds of situations: one is that the electromagnetic switch can hear the action sound and the starter does not rotate. The other is that the electromagnetic switch does not pull and the starter does not rotate. The former may be due to insufficient battery power, poor start line contact, or failure of the starter itself. In addition to the above factors, the latter may also be related to the start-up of a switch circuit, an electromagnetic switch, or a failure of a DC motor. The inspection and judgment method is as follows.
Check battery post, starting line, DC motor brushes and electromagnetic switches and other components. When starting the diesel engine, do you have smoke, abnormal heat and abnormal noise? If there is an abnormal phenomenon, the work of the component should be examined with emphasis.
Check the start fuse for fuse.
Check the fastening of the various parts of the start line, such as battery terminals, electromagnetic switch terminals, and startup
Switch posts and so on.
Check the voltage drop of the battery before starting the diesel engine and starting the diesel engine with the DC voltage of the multimeter.
Check the starting circuit for a fault. The inspection method is to use a medium screwdriver to short-circuit the battery terminal of the electromagnetic switch and the switch terminal. If the electromagnetic switch is closed after the short circuit and the starter is running normally, it indicates that the start line outside the electromagnetic switch is faulty, such as the start key switch. Or the start button is in poor contact and the line connector is not in contact.
Use a screwdriver to short circuit the battery terminal and the magnetic field terminal. If the starter operates normally, it indicates that there is a fault inside the electromagnetic switch. Remove the electromagnetic switch to check the internal contacts of the electromagnetic switch and burnout of the two static contacts. And whether the magnetic coil is burned. If the starter still does not operate and there is no spark in the event of a short circuit, it means that an open circuit fault has occurred inside the starter. If sparks appear, it indicates a short circuit inside the starter. The starter should be removed and repaired.
