The new energy cable is the abbreviation of the wire and cable used in the new energy vehicle. The new energy cable is divided into two categories: vehicle (inside line) and off-board (charging pile).
First, the new energy cable market trend
According to data released by the Automobile Industry Association, in 2017, China's new energy vehicle production and sales were 794,000 and 777,000, an increase of 53.8% and 53.3% respectively, and the market share reached 2.7%, an increase of 0.9 percentage points over the previous year. From January to October 2018, domestic sales of new energy vehicles reached 7.9 million units and 860,000 units respectively, an increase of 70% and 75.6% over the same period of the previous year. According to the current trend, new energy vehicles will continue to maintain a high growth trend. According to national planning, by 2020, the national new energy vehicle production will reach 2 million, and the production and sales will exceed 5 million.
At the same time, the National Electric Vehicle Charging Infrastructure Development Guide (2015-2020) clearly states that by 2020, more than 12,000 new centralized charging and replacement stations will be added, and more than 4.8 million decentralized charging piles will be used to meet the national 500. Ten thousand electric vehicle charging needs, at the same time, proposed to increase the subsidy for charging infrastructure, and give moderate support to the central infrastructure investment funds in the early stage of industrial development.
From this point of view, in the next few years, new energy vehicles and charging piles will maintain a high growth trend. As a cable for transmitting electrical energy, with the development of new energy vehicles, it will also erupt.
Second, the application and performance of new energy cables
According to the structure, the new energy cable is divided into single core and multi core.
There are some differences between new energy vehicle cables and ordinary car cables, mainly due to the great changes in the use environment:
1, high voltage and high current (car)
Up to 600/300A, while the traditional fuel car battery voltage is generally 12V, the corresponding wire withstand voltage level is less than 60V.
2, large wire diameter, a large number of cables (car)
High-voltage battery inverter transformer / low-voltage battery / air-conditioning compressor / electric heating / power distribution unit ... a large number of electrical structures using cables to connect, resulting in a large number of cables in a limited space.
3, exposed space (non-vehicle)
The cable of the charging gun part is exposed to space for a long time, and its weather resistance, wear resistance, bending resistance, tear resistance... have strict requirements.
Due to the characteristics of large voltage/high current and large number of large-diameter wires, the design of the wiring harness faces challenges such as wiring, safety, shielding, weight and cost.
