Several start-up methods for easily damaged diesel generators

When many new users start to use diesel generators, improper operation will often lead to damage to the components of the unit. The Chemmler technical experts will analyze the startup methods of several vulnerable diesel generators:

1. Start with no water or start with boiling water. If there is no cooling water after the diesel generator starts, the temperature of the components such as the cylinder assembly, the cylinder head and the body will rise sharply. At this time, the cooling water will be added, which will cause the important parts such as the hot cylinder liner and the cylinder head to suddenly meet. Cold and cause bursting or deformation. However, if you add about 100 degrees of boiling water to the cold body before starting, it will also rupture the cylinder head, the body and the cylinder liner, etc., and the water temperature should be reduced to 60 degrees-70 degrees. Then join again.

2. Increase throttle activation. Do not add a throttle when the generator starts. Generally, the throttle is placed in the idle position. However, in order to enable the diesel generator to start up quickly, the throttle is activated before starting or during the start-up process.

3. A powerful cold trailer starts. When the diesel generator set is forced to start in the cold state and the viscosity of the oil is high, the wear between the moving parts of the diesel engine will be aggravated, thereby reducing the service life of the diesel engine.

4. Start the fire at the intake pipe. If the ignition is started at the intake pipe of the diesel generator, the ash and hard debris generated by the combustion of the material will be sucked into the cylinder, which may cause the intake and exhaust valves to be closed and the cylinder to be pulled.

5. Use a glow plug or flame preheater for a long time. The heating elements of the glow plug or the flame preheater are all electric heating wires, and the power consumption and the heat generation amount are large. The long-term use can damage the battery due to rapid discharge, and can also burn the electric heating wire. Therefore, the glow plug should not be used for more than one minute each time, and the flame preheater should be controlled within 30 seconds.

6. Add the oil directly to the cylinder. The oil is added to the cylinder, although it can play the role of sealing boosting and warming, which is convenient for the generator to start cold, but the oil can not be completely burned, and the carbon deposit is easy to occur, the elasticity of the piston ring is weakened, and the sealing performance of the cylinder is degraded. In addition, it will accelerate the wear of the cylinder liner, causing the power of the generator to drop, making the starting more difficult, so it is not possible to directly add the oil to the cylinder.

7. Fill the intake pipe directly with gasoline. Gasoline has a lower ignition point than diesel and burns earlier than diesel. Therefore, directly pouring gasoline into the intake pipe will cause the diesel generator to work rough and produce a strong knocking phenomenon. In severe cases, the diesel engine may also reverse.

When starting the unit, you can start it in the correct way. If it does not start once, don't restart it immediately. Try again at 15S.
