The recent supply chain survey report released by the trade credit insurance company Yuli Anyi shows that China is one of the important destinations for European and American companies seeking new suppliers in the post-epidemic era.
Yuli Avent recently conducted a survey of about 1,200 companies in five countries including Germany, the United States, the United Kingdom, France, and Italy, mainly in industries such as automobiles, telecommunications, energy, machinery, chemicals and agricultural products. According to the survey, 94% of the companies interviewed said they faced a supply chain interruption after the outbreak of the new crown epidemic, and about one-fifth of the companies experienced severe supply chain interruption. In response to the impact of the epidemic, 55% of the surveyed companies considered looking for new suppliers in the next 6 to 12 months, while less than 15% of companies considered relocating overseas production to China. The report pointed out that China is one of the important destinations for European and American companies interviewed to find new suppliers, especially after “Brexit”, many British companies regard China as the preferred destination for finding new suppliers. According to the survey, 30% of British companies surveyed will consider finding new suppliers in China in the medium to long term. 18% of Italian companies surveyed, 14% of French companies and 12% of American companies also expressed similar views.
The report believes that European and American companies favor Chinese suppliers, on the one hand it shows that they tend to continue the current supply chain, and that China is still an "attractive choice." At the same time, after experiencing the impact of the new crown epidemic, many companies have set their sights on China in pursuit of cost-effectiveness and increased profit margins.
