In addition to power generation, there are fish ponds under the photovoltaic panels, the so-called "fishing and light complementation". Water power generation and underwater fish farming are one resource and two industries. At the beginning of March this year, 100,000 fry were put into the fish ponds, including mandarin fish, herring, crucian carp, bass, etc. Some fish ponds also raised crayfish.

Zhang Jianwen seized the opportunity to expand the scale of farming. The cooperative contracted all more than 1,300 acres of fish ponds. "Now the fish pond yields a thousand catties per mu, and the annual income of the cooperative is not a problem."

The project company spent nearly 2.6 million yuan on repairing village-level roads and at the same time circulating fish ponds, increasing the net income of the villagers by nearly 1 million yuan each year. Aquaculture of fish ponds has increased the demand for employment by nearly 40 people; the project’s security, greening and other services are purchased from the village, together with consumption assistance, etc., can increase the income of villagers by 600,000 yuan each year.

"The ‘fishing and light complementation’ model has an annual minimum rental income of 900,000 yuan, and aquaculture is even more impressive." Zhang Licheng, party branch secretary of Zhuhe Village, smiled from ear to ear. "The village is rich, the villagers are rich, and more than 20 households have built new houses and bought new cars."

Nowadays, there are similar fishing and light complementary projects in Jiangling, Tongshan and other places in our province, and this model is still being promoted.
