Sinopec Xiong'an New Energy Co., Ltd. has a registered capital of 100 million yuan and is a wholly-owned subsidiary invested and established by Sinopec Corporation. In addition to being responsible for the construction of the hydrogen energy industry chain in Xiongan, the company will also assist the new area to build a comprehensive hydrogen energy technology service platform, introduce new energy, new materials, new economy and other high-end high-tech industries and scientific research institutes, and create a hydrogen energy in the Xiongan New Area. It can demonstrate application scenarios, build a clean, low-carbon, safe, efficient, and multi-energy complementary energy system in the new district, and help Xiongan New District build a national model for high-quality development in the new era and an innovative development demonstration zone that implements the new development concept.

Sinopec is the largest hydrogen producer in China, with an annual output of about 3.9 million tons of hydrogen, accounting for about 11% of the country's hydrogen production. During the "14th Five-Year Plan" period, Sinopec will vigorously develop new energy business, accelerate the establishment of "China's No. 1 Hydrogen Energy Company", and lead the high-quality development of my country's hydrogen energy industry. At present, Sinopec is fully advancing the construction of the entire hydrogen energy industry chain, and has made breakthroughs in various fields such as hydrogen refueling stations, hydrogen production technology, hydrogen fuel cells, and hydrogen storage materials. Recently, the world's largest green hydrogen demonstration project with a hydrogen production capacity of 20,000 tons/year started in Kuche, Xinjiang. Four hydrogen refueling stations serving the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics have been put into operation, and a total of 38 hydrogen refueling stations have been built across the country. At the same time, Sinopec has a sales network of 30,000 gas stations, which has the industrial foundation and first-mover advantage for the development of hydrogen energy transportation. By 2025, Sinopec plans to build 1,000 oil-hydrogen combined stations and hydrogen refueling stations.
