On December 15, Guangdong Goldwind Technology Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Guangdong Goldwind"), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Goldwind Technology, and Zhongtian Technology Group Offshore Engineering Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Zhongtian Ocean Project") held the signing ceremony of the joint venture company in the "Carbon Neutral" Smart Park of Goldwind Yizhuang. The two parties will make use of their respective advantages to jointly build a new generation of jack-up offshore wind power installation vessels. Goldwind's Chairman Wu Gang, Vice President Li Fei, Marine Business Unit General Manager Wang Jian, Zhongtian Technology Group Chairman Xue Jiping, Deputy General Manager Xue Rugen, and Ocean Industry Group President Xiao Fangyin attended the ceremony.


Guangdong Goldwind and Zhongtian Offshore Engineering have jointly established Nanhai Offshore Engineering Co., Ltd. to jointly build a new generation of offshore wind power installation vessels, which will further empower the high-quality development of offshore wind power and help achieve the "dual carbon" goal. The installation vessel has a designed lifting capacity of 1,600 tons, and is capable of self-transporting and self-lifting multiple sets of 12MW-20MW offshore wind turbines under the conditions of operating water depth of 70m. It is planned to be launched into service in 2023. The installation ship will carry out matching design with the new generation of offshore wind turbines, and based on the integration and innovation of offshore wind power engineering technology and wind power product technology, it will provide a strong guarantee for the efficient construction of large offshore units in the future, and provide customers with more refined overall solutions .

Clarkson research data shows that in October this year, China surpassed Britain for the first time to become the world's largest offshore wind power market, with a total installed capacity of 10.48GW. According to incomplete statistics, during the "14th Five-Year Plan" period, the total planned offshore wind power in my country will exceed 60GW, and it will gradually enter the stage of large-scale construction, and the development of the industry has entered the fast lane.


In early November, the utilization rate of wind power installation ships in the Chinese market reached 98%, and the number of ships operating in Chinese wind farms reached an average of 69 ships per month, an increase of 183% year-on-year. However, according to market statistics and data from the Global Wind Energy Council (GWEC), China has only about 50 installation vessels capable of installing 6-7 MW offshore wind turbines. Among the existing jack-up installation platforms, there are only about 25 offshore wind turbines capable of installing more than 8 MW (inclusive), and about 5 offshore wind turbines capable of installing more than 10 MW (inclusive). In the future offshore wind power market in Fujian and Guangdong with deeper waters, the existing offshore wind power installation vessels can no longer meet the hoisting needs of 12MW and larger capacity units. The stable installation vessel resources will occupy an important position in the future offshore wind flat price development. This cooperation is an important measure to strengthen the efficient coordination of the industrial chain and create high-quality development. It will provide strong support for meeting the challenges of far-reaching ocean and large-capacity and ensuring the healthy and orderly development of offshore wind power.
